Tannis was born and raised in Manitoba and graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Saskatoon, SK. in 1995. She practiced veterinary medicine for the next 10 years in a mixed, rural Manitoba practice. With the birth of her daughter in 2005, she decided to work part-time which meant a change of workplace. She has been working at the Grand Valley Animal Clinic since March 2006. She mostly stays in-clinic working with companion animals (dogs, cats, etc.) although she is quite familiar with all aspects of veterinary medicine including work with llamas and alpacas. She resides near Hamiota where she shares a home with her husband, daughter, son, and an Airdale Terrier.
